Conviction often feels like a prison sentence — heavy, shame-filled, and something to avoid. But what if conviction isn’t meant to lock us up, but to set us free? Just like cancer patients ring the bell to celebrate freedom from something that once threatened their lives, conviction is God’s way of pointing out blind spots that could destroy us if left unnoticed. It’s not a mark of condemnation, but a sound of hope — proof that God loves us too much to leave us where we are.
When we let conviction do its work, it becomes a pathway to growth, healing, and freedom. Conviction shows us where we’ve drifted so we can return to the One who makes us whole. And when we respond, it’s like ringing the bell — celebrating the victory Jesus has already won for us at the cross.
